The Pittsburgh Pirates utility man cemented his reputation even further Friday night against the Chicago Cubs by sliding safely into first base in the only acceptable fashion that would help him not make an out.

There is some debate surrounding the effectiveness of sliding into first base with two basic schools of thought. Some folks believe sliding into first base is ineffective, while other folks are wrong.

Unless, of course, you’re talking about Harrison. The 29-year-old has time and again created highlight-reel baserunning situations and is a generational talent on the basepaths.
