Mets’ Collins tossed after arguing with umps over non-interference call

New York Mets manager Terry Collins has been through a lot this season with his club and frustration reached a boiling point on Thursday.

After a bat boy interfered with Mets third baseman Wilmer Flores in foul territory off a pop-up from Eric Sogard, the umpires initially ruled the Milwaukee Brewers second baseman out on the play.

Eventually, the crew changed its minds, leading to an irate Collins taking the field to dispute the decision. Much to his chagrin, Collins was tossed from the game for his antics by home-plate umpire Fieldin Culbreth.

The team escaped the at-bat unscathed, however, as Sogard grounded out into an inning-ending double play. Though the Mets won the battle, they ultimately lost the war with the Brewers by a score of 2-1.
