Dr. Roto: Tanaka vs. Sale Duel & DFS Plays

Daily Dr. Roto—April 28, 2017

The Night that Was

–Yankees SP Masahiro Tanaka showed everyone why he is such an underrated Fantasy talent. He often goes unnoticed in the first few rounds, but gives surprising value to his owners. A shutout in Boston against Chris Sale was completely unexpected.

–Yankees SS Didi Gregorius is expected to return this weekend from his stint on the DL. Get him into your lineups and see if he is available on your league’s waiver wire. I like his upside.

–Just when things couldn’t be worse for the Mets, OF Yoenis Cespedes injures his hamstring and it does not look good. He could be out for a few weeks. The good news is that Michael Conforto’s spot in the lineup is solidified.

–How about that start from D’Backs SP Taijuan Walker? We have been waiting for him to breakout for years. This might just be the season it happens, so see if you can get him in a trade before it’s too late.

–I am not sure if you use the Scout Fantasy MLB Optimizer for DFS, but if you don’t, you really need to RIGHT NOW. This week alone it spit out: Tyler Collins, Guillermo Heredia, and Ryan Schimpf. All three had HRs on the night the optimizer said they would.

–Whoever took Nationals SS Trea Turner in the first round, I applaud your courage. He is turning out to be a gem and hitting in front of Bryce Harper guarantees that he will see good pitches to hit.
