A mystery for the ages has been solved.
When Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig blasted a ninth-inning home run in Game 5 of the World Series, it wasn’t a popular moment for the Houston Astros‘ home faithful. One fan angrily took the ball from the person who caught it, and promptly returned it to the field:
It turns out the ball thief, Kirk Head, is the brother-in-law of Sarah Head, the person from whom he stole the ball, and he had a colorful defense for his actions, according to Yahoo Sports’ Mike Oz.
“(Expletive) the Dodgers,” he said.
As for Sarah, she wasn’t pleased with her brother-in-law’s actions, but it’s not because she was hoping for a souvenir.
“I would have liked the opportunity to throw it back myself,” she said.
